Some examples of projects that members of the Broadzone team have delivered:
UK wholesale DSL operator - market entry
A successful European DSL operator wanted to enter the emerging UK market, but had nothing in place. All of the key building blocks needed in preparation for launch were developed from scratch. These included market entry strategy, business plan, products and pricing, organisation design, technical feasibility, system design and specification, and rollout plan. Key operational functions were provided on an interim basis whilst the client staffed up. These included regulatory liaison, equipment sourcing, office location and leasing, geodemographic analysis and customer targeting. Post Acquisition IT integration
After acquiring a market-leading vehicle leasing company, a global financial institution wanted to integrate the new business into its established and successful operating model. Programme managing the IT integration activities over a 12 month period enabled the combined business to realize significant benefits. Key activities included migrating critical business information from the legacy application landscape into the strategic systems, enhancing systems to fulfill the regulatory needs of the newly combined business, consolidating data centres and standardizing on IT services and processes, whilst maintaining contractual obligations within its white label outsourcing operation.
Interconnection cost model
High charges for wireline call termination were hampering the development of competition in a liberalising market. New entrants needed an independent and realistic method of setting interconnection charges. A Long Run Incremental Cost (LRIC) model was developed in an industry-wide forum. This ensured transparency and gave all operators the opportunity to contribute to the output and validate assumptions. The results were provided to the regulator for implementation. Mobile phone content delivery - market evaluation
A multinational behind many Japanese i-mode services was seeking new revenue streams in Europe. The European mobile content market was evaluated. We identified the key countries and opportunities for focus. Business models and revenue capture mechanisms were highlighted. Value chain relationships were examined leading to role identification and prioritization. The result for the client was a market entry strategy that managed uncertainty by building positions that maximised downstream options. |
